Golf Club Championships: A Showcase of Talent and Determination
The recent Golf Club Championships provided an exciting display of skill, sportsmanship, and perseverance across all categories. Our members competed fiercely across the Valley and Championship courses, delivering memorable performances that highlighted the depth of talent within our club.
Junior, Juvenile, and Bantam Championships
The junior members of our club also had their time to shine. Sasha Cooke was crowned the Junior Club Champion with a total score of 159, while Zach Livingstone followed as the runner-up with 163. In the Juvenile Club Championship, Carson Hopper emerged as the champion, and in the Bantam Club Championship, Tate Bristol claimed victory, with Cooper Eisen finishing as the runner-up.
Valley Course Highlights
On the Valley Course, Vicki Ruminsky emerged as the Ladies Gross Champion with an impressive total of 80, closely followed by Nancy Basso, who finished with 83. In the Ladies Net category, Janis Silvestri claimed the top spot with a score of Net 69.
The Men’s Gross Champion on the Valley Course was Kevin Greer, who posted a remarkable total of 75, narrowly edging out Paul Orzech, who finished just one stroke behind at 76. Steve Ruminsky took home the Men’s Net Champion title with a solid score of 78.
Championship Course Highlights
The competition on the Championship Course was equally intense. Sarah Thomson secured her place as the Ladies Club Champion with a combined score of 155 over two rounds. In the Ladies "A" Flight, Michelle Randall led the pack with a score of 173, while Lisa Young earned the runner-up position with a total of 179. Anna Ferretti topped the Ladies "B" Flight with a score of 194, followed by Ann Lalonde at 206.
Bernie Gillett claimed the Ladies "Net" Flight title with a total of Net 153, with Theresa Martin finishing as the runner-up at 157. The Stableford competition saw Julie Girard emerge as the champion with 60 points, with Caroline Booth close behind at 58.
In the Men’s Championship Flight, Josh Polisuk showcased his prowess, finishing as the overall Champion with a three-round total of 224. Matt Durisin and Marc Gallo both tied for second place with scores of 228. The "A" Flight saw Cathal Copas take the championship with a total of 155, while Larry Berman claimed the Net Stableford Champion title with a score of 71.
The "B" Flight was won by Reggie Brown with a total of 160, and Sal Mariano took the Net Stableford Champion title with an impressive 69 points. In the "C" Flight, John Kirk emerged as the champion with 170, while Ilario Melia took the Net Stableford Champion honors with 74 points. Anson Wong won the "D" Flight with a score of 173, and Nick Gallo claimed the Net Stableford Champion title with a score of 69.
Conclusion
