Bo Young Park Shines at 2024 PGA of Ontario Women's Championship

We are proud to announce that our very own Bo Young Park, one of The Thornhill Club's Golf Professionals, recently competed in the 2024 PGA of Ontario Women’s Championship held at the historic Ladies Golf Club on Monday, September 9th, 2024. After a two-year hiatus from the event, Bo returned in remarkable form, finishing an impressive second place.

Reflecting on the event, Bo shared, "It was great coming back to play after two years; I last competed in 2022 when I had just turned pro. Given that I haven’t had much time to play or work on my game this season due to my golf operations and teaching duties, I was pleased with my performance. I was hitting the ball solidly, very long, and straight."

Bo’s round was full of highlights, including a thrilling eagle on the Par 4, 17th hole. She holed out her second shot from 70 yards under a tree with a 58-degree wedge. "The ball was in an old divot, so I was slightly disappointed with the lie, but I made the best of it, hit a really good shot, and it was fun to watch it go in," Bo remarked.

Not every hole was without its challenges, however. On the Par 5, 7th hole, Bo navigated a tough situation after landing in the water hazard due to a tricky club selection. "I hit a 7-wood a bit long and left into the water hazard. Despite the penalty, I managed to get up and down for par, so I was pleased with how I handled the setback," she said.

Despite the cloudy weather, with rain coming down in the final three holes, Bo remained composed throughout the round, carding an even par with four bogeys, two birdies, and the eagle. Her performance was a testament to her skill and perseverance, as she finished second with a score of even par, narrowly missing the top spot by one stroke.

Congratulations to Bo for her outstanding achievement, and we look forward to more exciting performances in the future.
